Overview

The expansion of Terminal 2 (T2) at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) is a significant component of the HK$141.5 billion initiative to transform HKIA from a two-runway to a three-runway system. This ambitious project aims to enhance the airport's capacity and streamline passenger and baggage flow through advanced architectural design.

GELEC's Contribution:

  • Fire and Smoke Safety: Provided TROX Motorised Fire and Smoke Dampers to enhance safety and fire response within the terminal.
  • Smoke Control Solutions: Supplied 2000 units of G1K1 Automatic Smoke Curtains, contributing to the overall safety and compliance of the terminal.
  • Enhanced Protection: These installations are critical in maintaining a safe environment, crucial for the wellbeing of passengers and staff alike.
